Livelihoods Enhancement through Integrated Farming & Entrepreneurship (LIFE).

Introduction of the project :

The project will enhance to increase income of the targeted people through involving them into different income generating activities mainly on agriculture and livestock related activities. The project will work with total 600 Farmers in the targeted area to build their capacity and increase know-how on agriculture and livestock management. The project will provide input support on agriculture, existing livestock improvements, and support on high value vegetable cultivation and conduct regular awareness rising session with demonstrations too. Apart from this the project will publish Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials as per the focused areas to increase the know-how of the targeted farmers and work to build linkage with the existing relevant Government line departments. The project will create the opportunity for the project farmers to share their leaning, challenge and way forward through yearly farmers learning sharing event. As farmers do face challenge on buying and selling of their vegetable so the project will identify selective farmers and capacitated on entrepreneur development for buying and selling of agricultural inputs. For well-functioning of the buying and selling the project will work to categorize the farmers in a cluster level, which will lead to form and activate the producer group.

Also the project will identify the unemployed youth and dropped out youth from education to link with different vocational institutions for training on different trades.

Project Objective:

ü  To increase the knowledge of the project participants on household level nutrition gardening and aware of the project participants on nutritional value of vegetable as per the requirements of their bodies

ü   To increase the know-how of the project participants on modern livestock management

ü  To identify the unemployed and school dropped youth and linked them to the vocational training institutions for technical vocational education

ü   Awareness on modern agriculture & fish culture

ü   Aware the community people through vaccination program & supply them information, education & communication materials

ü   Income generating activities through different livelihood interventions

ü  Linkage with Government & private institutions for vocational training

ü  Awareness develop through meeting on their right in the society

ü  Linkage the youth with the program activity in order to increase the income source of family

The project site is situated at the northern part of Bangladesh the name of the District is Rajshahi . It is 270 Kilometers from the Capital city Dhaka and from Rajshahi it is 30 Kilometers far.
