Introduction of the project

Fisheries and Livestock Unit is trying to increase the IGAsthrough expansion of  Livestock and Fisheries Technology which helps proper utilization of limited asset of members to achieve goals. Fisheries and Livestock Unit is a great example of socio-economic development that increase members income through utilization of useless land, pouitry rearing, cattle rearing, goat rearing, pigeon rearing, fish farming in ponds, safe vegetable production, vermicompost production and so on

Project Period : July 2021-June 2022

Project Objective :

Ø  Provide training to the member (MF).

Ø  Technical Support like as treatment, vaccination, deworming, CMT, supplying grass cutting etc.

Ø  To organize Vaccination and deworming Campaign.

Ø  To disseminatethe the livestock technology in the field level (Goat rearing on Macha system, native chicken rearing in cage).

Ø  To assist in establishment of new farm in certain area.

Ø   To create inspiration among farmers through Farm day.

Ø  To provide active consultancy about livestock activities among the farmer level.

Major Activities :

Capacity building under Livestock cell  

In Livestock cell, there is 1 skill development training has been organized under livestock cell among 25 members and livestock counselling center among 70 members for escalating capabilities building in related topics of livestock activities. In Training, the presence of Upazilla Livestock Officer (ULO) and Veterinary Surgeon (VS) has enriched and motivated to the member’s learning eagerness. The trainee has been acquaintance about the primary treatment of diseases, as a result more or less the break out of acute diseases of varies animals has been decreased. In case of implementing demonstration in field level, the new technology has been responded through farm day, market linkage workshop, billboard and informative signboard.

Vaccine and Technical Supports are given as follows in 2021-22 Fiscal Year;

Livestock Technologies

Under Livestock unit, there were varieties type of Livestock new technology has been demonstrated according to the direction of PKSF in order to ensure profitability of livestock related IGAs by using appropriate technologies at the farmer level. Good housing practice, effective feeding system, ensuring animal comfort, preventive veterinary care, timely breeding and livestock waste management are the pre-requisites sustainable and profitable livestock production. At a glance of implemented Livestock demonstrations as follows:

1.     Name of Technology: Castrated goat fattening through intensive method

             No. of Implemented demonstration : 15

2.     Name of Technology: Cow Rearing by ensuring good management practice.

            No. of Implemented Demonstration: 15

            No. of replication: 8         

                              

3.     Name of Technology: Color Broiler rearing through proper biosecurity

No. of Implemented Demonstration: 10

No. of replication: 3

            Beneficiary Train up: 1 batches (25)

4.     Name of Technology: Broiler type Pekin duck rearing for meat purpose

            No. of Demonstration: 10
