Gram Bikash Kendra (GBK) has started to implement Extended Community Climate Change Project-Flood (ECCCP-Flood) in partnership with PKSF and with financial support from Green Climate Fund (GCF).

GBK working with 1000 direct project participants' households. Where 3245 (1651 male and 1594 female) are getting facilities by the project. We are working with a mixed age group but have no ethnicity. We have started this project on October 2020 and I will be continuing until April 2024.   The objective of the project is to increase the resilience of the poor, marginalized, and climate-vulnerable communities towards the adverse effects of climate change in flood-prone areas of Bangladesh. PKSF is the lead partner of this project. BDT 5,40,13,053 is the total budget of this project (ECCCP Contribution 3,85,62,545,  IE Contribution in kind BDT 8,90,504 Community Contribution BDT 7,00,000& Loan BDT 1,38,60,000). TepaKhoribari Union under Dimla, Nilphamari is the working area of GBK-ECCCP-Flood. This project has 3 Field facilitators, 1 Accounts Officer, 1 Technical Officer-Engineer, and 1 Project Coordinator and all are reported to PC and PC is reported to the Focal person. This project has 5 major activity/component which is mentioned below: 

1.     Raise the homestead Plinth in clusters

2.     Install tub wells

3.     Construction climate-resilient sanitary latrine

4.     Provide support to rear goats/sheep in the shelter house

5.     Extension of high-value agricultural technology in a flood-prone area

All components are single and only we are implementing different activities using the Extension of high-value agricultural technology in flood porn areas as we have provided support to beneficiaries for the Cultivation of BRRI Dhan -52 as flood-tolerant rice verity, Cultivation of Bari Gom 30, Thai Golden-8 Guava garden and Sweet gourd.

We started to implement this project on December 2020 and only we have passed one year. Now some goat rearing beneficiary is changing their rearing system and is using the slatted houses for goat rearing and getting benefit from their goat rearing. Also, the beneficiary of the plinth raised is getting the opportunity to stay in their house without any threat of flood. Because we have raised the plinth considering 15 years of flood height.  This project has had no newsletter or video documentary till now.  We are disseminating messages on Covid-19.
