Short Description of Project:

Fisheries and Livestock Unit (Fisheries team) and Agriculture unit (Integrated Agriculture Unit) has been working Since FY 2018-19 in included branches and which is carrying on. In 2020-21 fiscal Year PKSF has selected and sponsored to GBK to continue the different innovation agriculture activities with successive aspect.

GBK is working in targeted area to improve community livelihood through multidimensional activities, and to gain Sustainable Development Goals. Livestock  Unit has accomplished in various activities on the basis of bond of micro-credit and Livestock.

Livestock Unit is trying to increase the IGAs through expansion of different new technology which helps proper utilization of limited asset of members to achieve goals. Agriculture Fisheries and Livestock Unit is a great example of socio-economic development that increase members income through utilization of useless land, Fishing gear, poultry rearing, cattle fattening, fish farming in ponds, safe vegetable production, vermin-compost production and so on.

Project Goals:

To enhance the loan activities and loan security, member’s IGA, ensure safe livestock production, increase production, productivity, women engagement, Women empowerment and supply of maximum animal protein at community level.

Project Objectives:

1. Provide technical training to the member (MF) of catchment area
2. Technical Support like as Native chicken rearing, cow rearing, pigeon farming, Goat rearing, Buck centre establishment, Pekin duck rearing , disease control, management and treatment.
3. To disseminate the modern technology in the field level ( Goat and bull fattening,  deshi chiken and pekin duck rearing, milk derivatives production etc)
4. To assist in establishment of new farm in catchment area.
5. To create inspiration among farmers through farmers field day.
6. To provide active consultancy about farming activities among the farmer’s level .

Project Duration: 1st July 2024 to 30 June 2025

Project Working Area: Taragonj, Paglapir, Khoyerpukur, Bhawanipur Branch

Project Targeted people: Debt member, Marginal farmer, hatchery ,  Interested poor people.

Number of Project Participant: 140 (All are female)

Component-3:   Semi –intensive deshi chicken production

Component-4:   Pekin duck farming for the purpose of meat production

Component-5:   Goat Fattening  Caponized cook fattening

Component-6:    Modern livestock product sales center

Component-7:   Uncastrated male goat farming

Component-8:    Hatching machines

Component-9:    Cream separator machine for the purpose of making milk derivatives

Component-10:   Layer chicken production

Component-11:     Fodder production (Napier Grass)

Component-12:     Parent stock production of deshi chicken

Component-13:    High yielding milking cow farming procedure.
